Who We Are

Bruce Milletto is recognized by the press and the coffee industry internationally as the voice of the specialty coffee industry. He has been interviewed by, or quoted in: the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Newsweek, 60 Minutes, Kiplinger’s, Starbucks Annual Report, Forbes, the Economist, Harvard Management Update, Crain’s Business Review, the Seattle Times, the Oregonian, the Washington Post, Business Week and Entrepreneur.

In 2003, the Specialty Coffee Association of America [SCAA] named Bruce as one of its 20 “Coffee Luminaries,” and in 2004, he appeared in Gourmet Retailer’s 25th anniversary issue on the list of the 25 individuals who helped shape the specialty coffee industry.

Bruce wrote a column for many years for Fresh Cup magazine, the specialty coffee industry’s leading publication. He continues to frequently author articles for the magazine as well as provide articles and interviews for such trade publications as Specialty Coffee Retailer, Fancy Food, Gourmet Retailer, Coffee and Beverage Euro Coffee and Coffeenet.

Laura Everage is a writer, editor, swimmer, yoga-lover, wife, and mother of four. Her days start very early in the morning, but thanks to her favorite beverage – coffee –  she is able to start each day on a good note.

Laura began her journey in coffee nearly 20 years ago when she was assigned to cover the coffee industry for the trade magazine the Gourmet Retailer. During the next 11 years as Managing Editor for the magazine, Laura gained extensive knowledge of the coffee industry, traveling to coffee farms, serving on industry committees, and building relationships with specialty coffee professionals.

She continues to write about food, coffee, tea and kitchenware and is currently working on a book entitled Courage in a Cup: Women, Coffee and the Global Economy with industry veteran, Kimberly Easson. Laura is also founder and editor of her own website, Family Eats.

Her work has appeared in a variety of trade magazines as well as consumer publications Saveur and Consumers’ Digest. She edited the book The Espresso Quest, and was contributing author to Achieving Success in Specialty Coffee, published by Bellissimo, in addition to writing a chapter for the book, The Future of Coffee in Colombia, a joint project of the University of Miami Center for Latin American Studies and the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (2007). Laura’s knowledge of the industry has landed her appearances on both the Food Network and Fine Living Network.

Through the years, Laura has served on various committees for the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) and was presented with the 2000 Award for Distinguished Author in the Specialty Coffee Industry by the SCAA in 2004.
