the coffee consumer’s daily brew

We’re happy to say, that after several years of talking about it, we have finally re-launched Coffee Universe with a revitalized focus on bringing the coffee drinking consumer news, information, and insights from the world of coffee.

When Coffee Universe was originally launched by Bruce Milletto 12 years ago, its mission was to provide  consumers with a place to learn all about coffee. It was also a website where coffee industry professionals could come to connect. It was the only such website out there to do just that, and a bit ahead of its time.

Fast-forward more than a decade, and the new Coffee Universe is still about bringing news and information to the coffee-drinking consumer. The site design has been updated, and the focus has been re-dedicated to everything coffee related.  It showcases articles for everyone who enjoys coffee – from the occasional drinker to the long-time professional.

Yes, you can find a lot of information about coffee all around the web, but Coffee Universe aims to be just a bit different. Coffee Universe is the place where you, the coffee drinking consumer, can go to learn about all things coffee – in an non-intimidating environment. It is the place where you can visit to learn about the farmer who produced your cup of coffee; Where you can keep up-to-date on news and culture as it relates to coffee; Where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy expanding your knowledge of coffee, without anyone looking over your shoulder commenting on  what coffee you’re brewing and what you brewed it in. Yes, we are all about drinking quality coffee, but Coffee Universe is here to help you better understand what that means.

Whether you are a seasoned coffee professional, or a daily drinker who frequents the local coffee shop to get you going in the morning, you will find information that will help broaden your experience with this beverage. From around the Coffee Universe, you can learn how to brew using a Chemex brewer, catch up on the latest coffee equipment, learn why coffee prices are rising, and be entertained by the latest videos, podcasts, and other media.

Because we are aiming to reach coffee drinking consumers who have differing levels of understanding of coffee, we’ve implemented a system to help you decide which posts might be a good read for you. At the top of each article, you will see a “Level” indicated with stars. Ranging from one to five stars, it is our way of letting you know where the article stands in it’s content. One Star means the article is for those who have a basic understanding of coffee — kind of a beginner level. (For example, the history of coffee). However, it can also indicate that the article is of general interest to everyone. Three Star posts delve a bit more into the world of coffee; while Five Star articles are for those coffee drinkers who have a more professional level understanding of coffee.

We realize that we aren’t the only ones creating great reads about coffee. That’s why Coffee Universe will highlight news, articles, and blog posts found from around the web — those we believe our coffee drinking community of readers will find interesting.

Here is a run-down of what you will find:
