Gabriela Cordon started her coffee journey in 1999 at National Informacion coordinator by the Guatemalan Growers Association, Anacafe, where she was designated to develop the promotional strategy for Guatemalan Coffees at SCAA.
After five years in the International Promotion position, she managed the auction program of Anacafé, In Country Partner of Cup of Excellence and Q-Auction of the Coffee Quality Institute. In 2004 and 2005, she also developed and managed Anacafé´s independent coffee auction The Exceptional Cup.
In 2009, she began to work as marketing and communications consultant, specializing in coffee. She developed online Estate coffee auction strategies for El Injerto Reserva del Comendador Best Varieties and Santa Felisa Reserva Especial Organic; she developed business strategies for exporting companies and growers such as Servex and Granos del Sur to increment their sales of selected micro-lots.
Cordon served as WBC international judge in Atlanta 2009 and London 2010; National Judge in Guatemala from 2006 to 2009, Nicaragua and El Salvador in 2009. She has also volunteered to serve in the Marketing Committee of IWCA since 2009. She has coordinated editorial content and wrote articles for Café Cultura, Guatemalan magazine. Since 2010, she publishes articles about Guatemalan coffee production in Roaste, an online store featuring the coffee beans from award-winning coffee roasters.
